ER16-8-2 wire is primarily used for welding stainless steel Types 308H, 316H, and 321/347 with carbon contents ranging from 0.04-0.10 percent for high pressure, high-temperature piping systems. ER16-8-2 is well suited for welding catalytic crackers, thick wall steam piping, and furnace parts, as well as components in the petrochemical, chemical processing, and power generation industries. ER16-8-2 wire also known as 16Cr-8Ni2Mo contains 16 percent Chromium, 8 percent nickel, 2 percent molybdenum. It exhibits various features like cut length, Low ferrite weld deposit (1-5), Cryogenic toughness properties down to -196 degrees C (-320 degrees F), high pressure and high-temperature resistance, good hot ductility properties, which offer greater freedom from weld or crater cracking even under restraint conditions.
