ERNi-CI Tig Rod, ERNi CI Welding Wire, Nickel Alloy 99 Welding MIG & TIG Filler Metal Supplier in India.

ERNi CI, or Nickel Alloy 99 or Alloy NA99 is a nickel alloy filler metal with superior weldability and resistance to cracking. It is used in place of conventional electrodes because it can create high-strength welds with less preheating and less post-weld stress cracking. Shanti Metal is a well-known name in the welding sector with expertise in the production of high-quality welding consumables. Our ERNi CI is used for TIG and MIG welding of cast iron and provides great strength and durability.

Key Properties and Welding Parameters

Key Properties:

  • High nickel content provides good bonding with cast iron.

  • Excellent ductility and machinability.

  • Good corrosion resistance.

  • Reduces the possibility of porosity and cracking.

  • Offers excellent weld puddle control for accurate welding.

Welding Parameters:

  • Applicable for both manual and automatic welding.

  • Recommended polarity: DC+ for best performance.

  • Interpass temperature control is important to prevent defects.

  • Usually requires little preheating and post-weld stress relief.

ERNi-CI vs. ENi-CI – Key Differences and Common Pitfalls

Composition:

  • ERNi CI is a bare nickel-based filler metal, suitable for TIG and MIG welding.

  • ENi-CI is a coated electrode used primarily for SMAW (stick welding).

Application:

  • ERNi CI is ideal for welding cast iron to dissimilar metals, such as stainless steel.

  • ENi-CI is commonly used for welding grey and ductile cast iron.

Weldability:

  • ERNi CI provides better ductility and machinability.

  • ENi-CI may require more preheating and post-weld heat treatment.

Common Pitfalls:

  • Excessive heat can cause cracking and distortion.

  • Defects in welding may be caused by improper pre-cleaning of the base material.

  • Inadequate interpass temperature control can lead to inferior weld integrity.

Applications and Standards Industrial

  • Automotive Industry: It is employed in the repair of engine blocks, cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds.

  • Manufacturing & Machinery: ERNi CI is well suited for welding and machine frame, housing, and gear repair.

  • Oil & Gas Industry: ERNi-Cl is applied to pump housings, valves, and pipeline repair and provides superior corrosion resistance in extreme environments.

  • Power Generation: Used in the repair of turbine casings, boiler parts, and generator housings.

  • General Engineering & Construction: They can be used for structural reparation in bridges, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery.

ERNi CI (WWNA99) is a versatile welding solution for multiple industries, offering excellent weldability, durability, and complies with AWS A5.15 standards for industrial-grade performance.
