ERCUNI Tig Rod, ERCUNI Welding Wire, Alloy 67 Welding MIG & TIG Filler Metal Supplier in India.
Shanti Metals supplies and exports AWS Class ERCuNi MIG & TIG welding wires from Mumbai, India. We offer nickel alloy TIG welding filler materials in different sizes and lengths to meet industrial needs. Our filler rods are also known as Alloy 67, Monel Filler Metal 67, UTP A 387, and OK AUTROD 19.49.
ERCuNi is a copper nickel-base filler metal classified under AWS A5.7. It’s used in MIG, TIG, oxyacetylene, and submerged arc welding for marine and corrosive environments. Its excellent seawater corrosion resistance makes it ideal for shipbuilding, offshore platforms and desalination plants. This alloy is also used for gas metal and gas tungsten arc welding. It can also be used by oxy-fuel welding of 70/30, 80/20, and 90/10 copper-nickel alloys.
Composition & Key Features
- Base Metals: A blend of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) in various ratios (e.g., 70/30, 80/20, and 90/10).
- Application: Designed for welding copper-nickel alloys to themselves or to MONEL® alloys (such as 400, R-405, K-500) and Nickel 200. The UTP A 387 Welded Wires are used for gas-metal-arc-welding (MIG) of Monel alloy 450 and other copper-nickel alloys. It is used for surfacing steel if a barrier layer of Nickel Filler Metal 61 is first applied. OK AUTROD 19.49 Welded Wires can be utilized for the barrier layer, If functional by the submerged-arc procedure. These Welded Wires have good resistance to corrosion in seawater and are widely used for marine and desalination applications
Why Use ERCuNi?
- Seawater: Outstanding resistance to pitting and stress corrosion.
- Biofouling: High copper content prevents marine organisms from adhering to surfaces—a key benefit in shipbuilding and offshore applications.
Corrosion Resistance
Versatile Welding Compatibility: Works with different welding processes MIG, TIG, oxy-fuel, and submerged arc welding.
Enhanced Welding Considerations
- Nickel-Based Barrier Layer Requirement: When welding ERCuNi to carbon steel, you need to use a nickel-based barrier layer (e.g., ERNi-1 or MONEL 60).
- Why It's Necessary: Prevents iron contamination from the carbon steel which can reduce the corrosion resistance of the weld by introducing sites for galvanic corrosion.
- Benefit: Ensures the inherent corrosion resistant properties of ERCuNi are maintained.
Submerged-Arc Welding: ERCuNi performs best when paired with specialized fluxes like INCOFLUX 8, ensuring strong, high-quality weld deposits.
