Classification & Composition

The metal has a minimum of 55% Nickel (Ni) content, which makes it have superior corrosion resistance and strength. The addition of Manganese (Mn) (0.5–1.5%) enhances hardness and wear resistance, with Iron (Fe) still the main element to provide structural integrity. With controlled quantities of Carbon (C), Silicon (Si), Phosphorus (P), Sulfur (S) and Copper (Cu), the alloy has enhanced stability, machinability, and thermal cracking resistance, which makes it a preferred choice for welding applications. The ERNiFe-CI is classified under AWS A5.15 specifications.
