Some properties of AWS Class E316/316L-16 Coated Electrons:
These austenitic BOHLER FOX EAS 4 M- A E316L-17 Coated electron provides excellent toughness, even up to the cryogenic temperature region. These electrons are excellent for welding 316/316H austenitic stainless steels electrodes operating at high temperatures (500-800°C) under long-term creep conditions. The 316H weld metal electrode of enhanced composition resists thermal embrittlement. The consumables can also be applied for welding 321/321H and 347/347H grades in high-temperature structural service.
Application of AWS Class E316/316L-16 Coated Electrons:
There are many applications where UTP 68 MOLC Coated Electrodes are used. It can be highly used in those applications where Type 316 stainless steel needs to be enhanced in elevated temperatures. In some cases, an E16-8-2 filler metal should be used for the welding process of 316 stainless steel in the manufacturing industry at ambient temperature service. E316L-16 electrodes deposit a maximum of 0.04% carbon in the weld deposit; thus electrode is used for welding type 316L or type 316 stainless steel. E316L-16 is broadly used in the chemical industry, steam engine turbine components, the petrochemical industry, and fossil and nuclear petroleum power stations.
