What is AWS Class ER308/308H?
Alloy ER 308H is used for welding unstabilized stainless steels such as Types 301, 302, 304, 304H, 305, 308 and 308H. This alloy is also used for general-purpose applications where corrosion conditions are moderate. The arrangement is the same as for the ER 308 alloy, except that the allowed carbon content has been limited to the top of the 308 range. Due to carbon content this alloy offer high strength at moderate temperatures. Alloy ER 308/308H is a Stainless Steel TIG, MIG and SUB-ARC wire used for welding. This alloy contains iron, chromium, nickel, manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorous, and sulfur.
