About AWS Class E410-16 Coated Electrodes:
Alloy 410-16 Coated Electrodes are martensitic stainless steel electrodes
with a titania-type flux coating. It is frequently utilized for welding or repairing 12%
chromium, air-hardenable stainless steel like types 410, 416, 420, 431, and cast C-15.
Alloy 410-16 Coated electrode is a necessary direct chromium high hardenability
martensitic stainless steel electrode with superior strength. It also offers moderately
good corrosion resistance as usually supplied hardened and tempered in the 700 - 850 Mpa
tensile range.
It is characterized by more excellent rust resistance in a moderate industrial
environment in a hardened and tempered situation.
Because of their great hardenability, these Electrodes can be hardened over Rc40
depending on the carbon content present in them. Smaller sections of these Electrodes
can be air-cooled, and larger sections are oil quenched for attaining maximum hardness.
Previous hardened and tempered 410-grade alloy will react to nitriding, accomplishing an
attribute surface hardness of over Rc65.

Features of AWS Class E410-16 Coated Electrodes:
- • These Coated electrodes are able to weld stainless steels of similar chemical composition and remove carbon steels to impart corrosion, erosion, and abrasion resistance.
- • Alloy 410-16 Coated electrodes are an air-hardening that is used for a pre-heat and inter-pass temperature of over 400°F (200°C) at the time of welding procedure.
