Hastelloy® C-2000 Coated Electrodes are shielded metal arc welded with Hastelloy. The metal deposited during the welding process is extremely resistant to uniform corrosion conditions in a variety of environments, including oxidizing and reducing ones. The alloy is well suited for dissimilar joining of other Ni-Cr Mo alloys, as well as Mo-containing stainless steel. C-2000 alloy has excellent forming characteristics, making cold-forming the preferred method of shaping it. It is solution-annealed at 1135°C, followed by rapid cooling, or by quenching in water. Because of metallurgical stability constraints, it is difficult to optimize both at the same time. Hastelloy C-2000 alloy addresses this alloy's design issue.
